Allez Jade !! Big congratulations to our friend, Jade Schaeffer, who won yesterday’s Raiffeisen Prague Golf Masters at Albatross Golf Club.
Each week seems to bring another outstanding performance on the LET this year. Jade’s second round was a scorcher. An 8 under 64, her lowest LET round of the season, put her in a post position leading into the final round. She secured her victory with a final round score of 70.
It was her first win since the Trophee Prevens last year at her home course at Bussy-St-Georges (photo left). And it shows that she’s fully recovered from her wrist surgery early in the year, which delayed the start to her 2011 season. We wish we had been in Prague to watch, but it wasn’t to be for us last week.
Next up on the Ladies European Tour (and for us) is the Open de Espana, hosted by La Quinta resort near Marbella in Spain. Watch for photos in our gallery from Spain beginning on Thursday.
The “it” girl for the week has to be 16 year-old Klara Spilkova. The former Jr. Solheim standout has made a mark in her rookie year on the LET and is sure to feature all weekend at Albatross Golf Club. Unlike the stories that you hear about some talented, young players, Klara is definitely different. Her parents have been great – supportive, but at the same time Not putting pressure on her to turn pro or cash in now. A totally different story than what you sometimes hear.
And Klara really is her own person. Talented, ambitious, confident, lovely are all words which could be used to describe her. Check out this youtube video of a young Klara on a Czech talk show – it’s in czech, but enough can be understood for us non-czech speakers.
